The passing down and promotion of Ainu culture and their traditions
require the advancement of comprehensive and practical research in a variety
of fields. It is also necessary to make efforts to publicize valuable research
results that have not been announced thus far for economic or other reasons.

Ainu-related research
Subsidies are given for projects involving comprehensive
and practical research on the Ainu, as well as for publication of research
results, in order to promote research into Ainu society and culture.
- Research subsidies: Research subsidies are granted for projects involving
comprehensive and practical research on Ainu society and culture, from
which excellent research results can be expected.
- Publication subsidies: Publication subsidies are granted for publications
on Ainu society and culture, which have not been published previously because
they do not have commercial value or are evasive to researchers because
they were published privately and exist only in limited numbers.
