Fuyuko Yoshihara

She was born and raised in Mukawa Town, Hokkaido. Acquiring the Ainu language in her daily life, she has been engaged in activities to hand down and preserve the old-style dancing, rituals and oral literature as a member of the Mukawa Ainu Culture Transmission and Preservation Society since its establishment. From 1994, she served as an assistant at an Ainu Language Class where her older sister (Seino Araida), who is a storyteller of the Ainu language familiar in the Mukawa rigion, works as an instructor. Since 1996 up to the present, she has served as an instructor and an assistant at the Ainu Language Class, and has made great contribution to the promotion of Ainu culture by embarking on activities to transmit and preserve the Ainu language as one of the few storytellers in the region.

1984 Enters the Mukawa Ainu Culture Transmission and Preservation Society
1994 Serves as an assistant at the Mukawa Ainu Language Class (FYs 1995 and 1997)
Cooperates in the compilation of "akoritak," an Ainu language textbook published by the Ainu Association of Hokkaido
1996 Assumes the post of an instructor at the Mukawa Ainu Language Class (since FY 1999 up to the present)
1998 Wins the Grand Prize at the Ainu Language Speech Contest
2000 Presents a special oral narration at the "Gathering of Adolescent Female" organized by the Ainu Association of Hokkaido
2001 Makes an appearance in the "Ainu Old-style Dancing & Drama in Ainu" of the 13th Ainu Folk Culture Festival
