Mombetsu Utari Bunka Hozonkai

(Mombetsu Utari Culture Preservation Society), an "Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property Protection Organization" With heightened consciousness regarding "accurate transmission and preservation of Ainu culture handed down in the area" in the activities of the members of the Mombetsu Branch, the Ainu Association of Hokkaido, Mombetsu Utari Culture Preservation Society was established in 1983 with the guidance and cooperation of regional elders and traditionalists.
After joining the Mombetsu Cultural Association in 1984, they began actively conducting activities, and have appeared in the Culture Festival hosted by the Association every year. In 1994, they were designated as a national "Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property Protection Organization," and are highly valued in Hokkaido and other parts of Japan.
In addition, they have engaged in the reproduction project for traditional crafts of Ainu culture as well as in old-style dancing transmission and preservation activities, exerting themselves to promote and disseminate Ainu culture with local residents.
