Norimitsu Chota

With the restoration of Ainu traditional ceremonies that have been handed down in the Mombetsu area, Mitsunori Chota plays a central role in the transmission and preservation of Ainu traditional ceremonies and rituals. In addition, he devotedly exerts himself as a regional leader to energetically work on training successors by holding workshops for training transmission successors as priests.Furthermore, he has been providing instruction in old-style dancing since the establishment of the Mombetsu Utari Culture Preservation Society in 1983, to which he has dedicated his efforts, and his achievements contribute significantly to the promotion of Ainu culture.

1975 Assumes the post of head of Mombetsu Branch, Ainu Association of Hokkaido
1993 Serves as a priest at the Ancestral Worship Service (icarpa) (held yearly since 1993)
2000 Serves as a priest at the Shishamokamuynomi(ceremony)
Serves as an instructor at workshops for training transmission successors as priests
