Yae Ashizawa

Yae Ashizawa creates and sells Ainu crafts as well as engages in agriculture. Moreover, she has been introducing her own Ainu spiritual culture to those in the general public who are interested in Ainu culture as well as to Ainu culture researchers for many years, and cooperates with hearing surveys despite her advanced age, actively striving to transmit and disseminate Ainu culture. She also devotes herself to the training of successors as an instructor of old-style dancing at the Biratori Ainu Bunka Hozonkai (Biratori Ainu Culture Preservation Society), and played a key role in editing "Aep" (food), which was published by the Society in 1990, significantly contributing to the promotion of Ainu culture.
