For the purpose of transmission and preservation of traditional Ainu dancing passed down to the Samani area, under the guidance of elders, and through their efforts to collect data, the Samani Folk Culture Preservation Society was established in 1983.In 1987, it joined the Samani Culture Association, since then has briskly conducted activities, such as annual participation in a Culture Festival hosted by the Association, and was included among the Best Organization Preserving Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties in 1994.Since then its members have exerted themselves to preserve and transmit Ainu culture including traditional Ainu dancing, and have participated in public performances in various cultural events across much of Hokkaido and other prefectures. The Preservation Society has received the Samani Cultural Promotion Award and its achievements are highly valued.

1995 Receives the Samani Cultural Promotion Award.
1996 Appears in "Ainu Folk Culture Festival" hosted by the Ainu Association of Hokkaido.
1998 Visits Taiwan and conducts cultural exchanges with indigenous people in various areas.
1998 Hosts and appears in "'99 Ainu Culture Festival (Naha)."
