Yasuko Uetake

 Yasuko Uetake taught herself the skills for making native dresses, embroidery and knitting although there were hardly any records concerning these skills in the Noboribetsu area. Uetake has contributed greatly to the transmission, preservation and prosperity of Ainu culture in the local area by teaching her skills and cooperating in the establishment of the Noboribetsu Ainu Language School.

1985- Serves as an Ainu living consultant.
1991 Serves as the Chairman of the " ChiriMashiho wo katarukai."Serves as the deputy manager of the Noboribetsu Branch of the Ainu Association of Hokkaido.
1993 Opens a joint exhibition of works at Noboribetsu City Library.
1994 Receives the first prize of the 27th Hokkaido Ainu Folkcraft Contest.
1996 Serves as the manager of the Noboribetsu Branch of the Ainu Association of Hokkaido.Serves as a member of the steering committee of the Noboribetsu Ainu Language School.
1997 Receives the consolation prize of the 29th Hokkaido Ainu Folkcraft Contest. Holds the "Pirka noka " exhibition of the Ainu's native dresses and folkcraft articles.Serves as an instructor at the Ainu embroidery class.Serves as the Chairman of the "Pirikanoka Society."
