"Mukkuri" is a typical Aynu musical instrument and a type of "toy musical
instrument" found in various parts of the world. Mukkuri is 10 cm
long and 1.5 cm wide and made of bamboo. Sound is produced by pulling hard
on the string on the right and vibrating the inside "tongue"
while holding the body with strings on both sides. Although the volume
of vibrating sound is law when it is played normally, the sound volume
will increase and tone colors will change considerably when it is resonated
in the mouth.
